The Captain's Caper! (Dunamin judging)

OOC: Covaithe, I just realized you should roll an attack for the first round. Since you and she went simultaneously in initiative you should get that round of actions before you get stunned by the Frightful Presence. We can leave your sling crit for your round 2 action.

ooc: no good, sorry: in case of a tie in initiative, the one with the higher modifier wins. (PHB p.267) So she goes first, and I'm still stunned.

[sblock=WHOA!]You sure left me a nice surprise for my comeback! A frickin' BLACK DRAGON?? I don't think we're gonna make it this time. Our only hope is if it never recharges the cloud of darkness, but that seems unlikely. And all that Alexander can do is hack at it in melee, no ranged options whatsoever. Oh well. My suggestion is that we back away and spread every time the damned thing uses the cloud of darkness[/sblock]

Oh... OH F***!!! shouts Alexander, stunned by the surprise! We were gonna fight a dragonborn madam, not her tanned cousing on steroids!! Palladys protect me, Aressus lend me your tricks, Hermetys I'll take anything from you too this time! he prays loudly, as he backs away from the beast.

[sblock=actions] move to I22; ready action to charge the dragon as soon as it comes out of the darkness; save vs ongoing dmg: failed; save vs attack penalty: made.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]we have to hope to get that blinding barrage in, too. That'd give us a really nice boos for a short time.
The thing I like the less is that like it or not, Alexas has to be near it to do his job. Or that nice combat challenge will be totally useless to have.
Also, Phoenix, is there vegetation around to hide behind? If Hrav can get CA with Stealth this might look a bit brighter...[/sblock]

OOC: Just waiting on Hrav's actual actions and his roll to possibly end his ongoing acid damage to be able to wrap us the round. There is vegetation around in places. The greenish and brownish squares are trees (3x3) and bushes (2x2).

Hrav dashes over to the bushes, trying to hide from the scaly beast, then hurls a shuriken at her. In his rush, the shuriken flies well wide, however. Finally, the acid of her breath stings him once more.

[sblock=Mechanics]Start of turn - Take 5 on-going acid damage.

Move action - Move to T20 and make as Stealth check:

Stealth (Movement penalty) (1d20+12-5=22)

Basic Attack - Basic Ranged Attack with Shuriken, with SA if hidden.

Ranged Basic Attack (-5 to hit unseen enemy, SA if Hrav is hidden). (1d20+8-5=4, 1d8+4=9, 2d6+4=8)

Natural 1 misses.

End of turn - Save vs on-going acid damage - Save vs Acid (1d20=1)

Fail.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]We're so screwed.[/sblock]

ooc: Look on the bright side: two natural ones in a turn earns you a place in the record books, I think. On a more serious note: Ata, if you're readying a charge, try not to stop the dragon so far away from us that we can't get to it in a single move.
