[sblock=Wisco]Wisco releases a slow breath as he reaches the moment of truth and begins the process of attempting to shut down the machine and return it to a dormant state. If possible, he will do so when there are no ab-humans present. If that is not an option, Wisco keeps a eye on those ab-humans present for any signs of an adverse reaction.

OOC: Recall Test: Roll 06. Numenera Test: Roll 16.[/sblock]

[sblock=Wisco]Wisco, you take a moment to think, and remember clearly what Echo had been doing. You move your hands in a specific sequence over the symbols on the panel, and various options open up to you: production rate, mix ratio, speed, power levels, cycle times, aspects of units, and orientation of the corridor. Though there are abhumans coming out of this right place periodically, for the nonce they are ignoring you.[/sblock]

Xaion's words catch Echo's attention, snapping her out of the awed expression she's got as she looks down the length of the Shear and realizes just what the antennaed abhuman is saying.

"Wisco is down there?" she asks, alarmed. "Why? What's he doing?"

[sblock=Wisco]A slight smile plays across Wisco's face as the Nano reads the display. He glances back around the rest of the room to see if there is a response. Pleased that there is not, he returns his attention to the machine.

So far, so good.

A frown replaces the smile as the Nano ponders a choice. He seems to have the controls available to him to shut the production down, or slow the cycle considerably. But he doesn't know what the response will be to such a step. He may only get one chance, and it may cost him dearly. Alternatively, while the ab-humans appear to paying him no heed, he could use this time to interrogate the production information and find out more about what the machine will do in the future. How long is going to keep producing? How many ab-humans will it produce? Will it produce anything else? And finally, what is the purpose behind the machine and who is the keymaster?**

Wisco pauses for a moment to check on the ab-humans. If there is a period of time when one batch of ab-humans has existed out the room and down the corridor and before the next has emerged, it may give him a window of opportunity. Switching the orientation of the corridor should prevent anyone from returning, or at least slow them down, allowing him to stop the production without the risk of being interrupted, or worse.

Wisco decides to continue with his investigation for the moment until such an opportunity to stop the production presents itself (if it does).

OOC ** These last two questions are probably not covered by the production controls he has access too. If another roll is required I will rinse and repeat: Numenera (trained) plus 2 Effort + 1 Edge (INT). Rolled a 7. Humm, think it might be time to cross my fingers.

If required to make another roll, Wisco will take a moment to Recover (first time for the day I think). Rolled a 2 + 1 Tier + 1 Tough = 4 back into INT pool making his INT Pool 11/13.[/sblock]

"He..." Echo looks towards the hatch, herface going slack with horror. "He can't do that!"

She quickly folds the map and heads for the hatch, intending to get down there as quickly as possible.

"He doesn't understand!"

Duncan, despite his reservations about these abhumans and the machine, follows Echo where the Nano goes.

He keeps an eye out to see what the Abhuman response is to their heading back down the hatch.

ooc: are they watching us? Or just heading off down the path?

Sevarr Trim looks at Father Seren as if he's lost his wits. "You're sure, Father?"

Seregal tries to look convincing as possible. "I'm quite sure," he says, glancing over their inhuman allies. He was about to continue on in that vein, when Duncan delivers his doom-laden speech.

Seregal gives Duncan a steely look; after all of his work to get Sevarr to calm down, Duncan has now stirred everyone up again with the fears regarding the abhuman army. "Nice one, gladiator," Seregal mutters to himself, cracking his fingers.

Seregal forces himself to beam disarmignly. "What my companion means to say, Caravan Master, is that, while we're taking a few precautions, we know what we're doing and we're taking steps to uh, ensure that our new allies won't be the threat that they might appear."

He pauses, realising that Wisco's latest development is adding an extra wrinkle in the mix. He pats Sevarr reassuringly on the back. "Trust in the Truth," Seregal says.

[sblock]Roll to convince Sevarr that we know exactly what we're doing and we can all calm down. Trained in Trickery and will spend points of Int.

Seregal quickly sidles after Echo. "I though they were under our control," he whispers at her in a low voice.
