Atreus forges ahead, a smile on his face. That smile is quickly wiped off, however, when he goes another step down. There is another quiet click, and spears thrust up again. Atreus, not entirely surprised by this, is able to dodge, but his troubles are only beginning. Two panels fall away from the ceiling at the landing below with a stony clunk, and a pair of armored crossbow turrets drop down, firing bolts at him. One misses, but one bolt embeds deeply into him.
A menacing whirr sounds as an automatic mechanism, or perhaps a spell of some kind, winds the crossbows up for another shot.
(ooc: spears miss. one hit from the crossbows, 14 damage. I have it that Atreus was still down 1 hp from the last fight. Atreus is bloodied.)
[sblock=status and initiative]
ooc: I didn't bother rolling initiative; the traps have acted and now you can all act in whatever order you see fit. Please double check my count of HP and surges used, too; it is Monday, so I take a -5 penalty to basic arithmetic and thought functions.
The crossbow turrents are just below the ceiling, not quite 15 feet above ground. Woe can reach them with his spear, but other melee attacks will fall short unless you find some way to get closer to them.
