Tell Ryan that, he's been bummed that he hasn't gotten much feedback, good or bad. Seems like all the modules put out through Kenzer haven't sold well, or simply hasn't generated much feedback on the Necro boards.

I wonder if that's a distribution problem. I honestly couldn't find anywhere to buy a copy of Shades of Gray.

I've noticed that a lot of Necromancer products have been published through Kenzer lately. I think that it is to do with the fact that White Wolf will only give them so many "release slots" in a year and the books in those slots have to be a certain page length as well.

Marcon,

Thanks for the interest in Coils of Set.

As the writer of the module, I can assure you that your characters won't be facing waves of snakes. There are no yuan-ti in the module (because they are closed content from WotC). There are some snakemen and poisonous snakes, sure, but there are also some of the following creatures...

Tsathar (frogmen), evil humans, aboleth, demons, devils, undead, and constructs.

I'll be subscribing to this thread, so if anyone has any other questions or comments about Coils of Set, I'll be able to get back to you.

I picked up 'Coils..' a while back for light reading well on a trip.. and look forward to eventually running it in my Eberron campaign.. the relatively generic setting allows for alot of flexibility in dumping it into the game.... and amazingly fits very well with Eberron..

Generic Spoilers.. going from memory :)
[sblock]The three different parts are all within the boundries of Q'Barra, with the LizardFolk tribe and Sahugain rivallry from Eberron highlighted in the first two portions.

The Third portion takes a bit of twisting, but the module lays the foundation. Instead of being in a weird canyon in present time that has time-dilation effects, the party actually travels back in time to the Age of Demons in which barbaric Halfing ride dinasours and serve as slaves to the demon princes...and Set is not the God from another campaign world, just a powerful demon :]

Really thats all the tweaking it took!

[/sblock]

BTW, Ryan.. excellent module. I tend to avoid published work since its so hard to fit into a campaign smoothly and tends to ignore the semi-obvious question of 'what it the party doesnt bite?'... Coils of Set, IMHO, ranks up there with Deserts of Desolation and Ravenloft {I and II}
Even tho I haven't had a group to run through it yet :)

Wow. That's some of the most flattering comments I've yet read about the module. Thanks a lot. It's an honor to have my work mentioned in the same sentence with the classics you've named.

Ryan,

Hey I liked it and you know I'm a picky man! :p :)

Olaf,

Yeah I feel WW is seriously screwing themselves over by not giving more slots to Necromancer Games. I mean seriously, with Monte now "done" with d20, what's there to gain by keeping Necromancer modules in other places? 0 value in my mind. (I speak about WW's reasoning, not Necromancer's mind you.)

If nothing else, you can always order a copy directly from Kenzer and Company. I know people have had problems finding The Mother of All Treasure Tables, which was published by Kenzer at the same time as Shades of Grey. Kenzer has copies available, and customers want them, but the distributors seem reluctant to order more. Either keep on your local store to order you a copy, or go straight to Kenzer.

It can also be purchased at frpgames.com. Which is where I wind up getting all my Necromancer stuff. The only part is the 4 latest modules through Kenzer weren't even met with much fanfare, I discovered them by accident!

Coils of Set looks great, I have only had a chance to look through it a bit, but I have it here for a good read at work today (slow time). I really like the fact they're using Tomr of Horrors monsters in here. I like the core MM too but variety is the spice of life I say.
