Hello!
I'm the editor who has been lucky enough to bring Robert E. Howard to Del Rey, and I'd like to pose a challenge. To meet this challenge, I'll need help from all of you, and I'll need for you to spread the word. Consider yourselves Cimmerian conquerors, and you'll do fine.
For months, I've had this fantasy that every REH fan goes out and buys our latest book release in the very first week, and Howard hits the New York Times bestseller list--the most prestigious list in the nation.
(Wouldn't that be a kick in the pants--to see Kane right up there with The Davinci Code and the latest from John Grisham!) It'll be hard with Kane, because the booksellers might not yet have enough copies in the store. Still, if everyone goes out and buys their copy the week of June 29 (that's when it goes on sale), the ripples will quickly become waves!
Then the booksellers will have to buy even more copies of THE BLOODY CROWN OF CONAN, and when it hits the stores on November 23, the fans can REALLY make a difference.
So please spread the word. I want everyone to feel it when the Legion of Howard strikes!
