I think Brandon Lee's loss was a great one. He could have been a good actor. The Crow was his best movie but I would not use it to raise him to superstar status, I've seen a few of his other movies. They were no better than the Crow sequels. There is no evidence if he had lived that the movies would have been better with him than without.
I think you misunderstand me. My intent (by virtue of using Highlander as example as well) was to point out that there should not have been sequels. Some movies should stand alone in their design and story for the single purpose that any rehashing would dilute or stain the excellence of the first. Both these examples are reasons not to continue either movie in sequels and yet both still are and it doesn't do either movie it's justice to tarnish it further. I don't believe this for all movie's, but usually you can tell when it should be left alone.
As for Brandon Lee, I for one, enjoyed most of his movies. And I also believe they were much better than the c#@p sequels put out by either one of these franchises before or since. He really only got to do a handfull of movies and most were martial art-action flicks.
