The D&D Podcast wants your questions

WotC_Dave

First Post
My cohost Mike Mearls and I are going to record the next episode of the D&D Podcast tomorrow afternoon, and we'd like to include a mailbag segment when we answer your questions about 4e. If you have a question you'd like answered, send it to dndfeedback@wizards.com.

I know this is short notice, but the people who went to Gencon just got back to the office today, and we want to get a post-announcement podcast out there as soon as we can. We'll do a lot more on 4e in the coming weeks and months, and you'll get more chances to ask us questions. But it seemed like a good idea to get us in front of microphones with a stack of your questions as soon as possible.

And if you haven't listened to the podcast, it's available on iTunes or through D&D Insider. It's been described as "charmingly amateur." But my mom doesn't listen to it much anymore.

When developing 4e did you again have a list of sacred cows that you wanted to maintain to keep old fans happy with the game? I hope not as I think that anything that gets in the way of making the game better is a bad thing.

What single thing that is done in 4e do you think makes it the best? For an example of my favorite in 3e is characters need to roll an opponent's AC to hit them.

One I think will be of general interest:

If I want to run <insert favorite recent 3.5 adventure here, perhaps "the Savage Tide"> how hard is it going to be to either convert or adapt to use 4E?

There are a lot of new, quality 3.5 adventures out there. There are certainly concerns about how easy it will be to use in 4E.

Didn't they already say that is was better to start from scratch and not try to convert?

Tell us more about sources of power (right term?).

How will magic work in the new game?

I see you are adding "thor" and other real world myths to the game. How will this work with the Forgotten Realms? Will archdevils/demons be gods, or killable?

Alignment looks like it is getting an overhaul. How much will this change the core cosmology and planes?

Will psionics appear soon after the first releases?

Why the goofy horn on the green dragon art?

Will I own any DI stuff I pay for, so that I can keep it, if I ever unsubscribe?

Why only 10 PCs to be stored? How could a DM possibly keep NPCs on line then?

I'm pretty sure they were talking about characters. Some of the same issues apply to adventures, but not all.

Also, note the careful use of both "convert" and "adapt." :)

Here's my question:

"I didn't make it to GenCon. Is there anyway I can get one of those cool 4E Beholder T-shirts from you guys?"

:D
