If you think I'm being pedantic or unreasonable, consider this:
What would you think if the authors said dinosaurs were slow, cold-blooded reptiles (and brontosaurs were among them)? Our Solar System has nine planets (and only Saturn has rings)? Atari has a fun game console with Asteroids and Combat games? Or some other thing they remember from their childhood 20-30 years ago? Would it be pedantic or unreasonable to point out they got it wrong or they are out of date?
I'm not saying the book is bad, or anything like that. I'm just saying that I'm surprised (happily) that D&D showed up in the book, and I'm surprised (sadly) that they were so sloppy in their "coverage" of the topic.
I don't think anyone would give them a pass for getting the dinosaurs and planets things wrong, or being badly out of date with the video games thing. I'm just mentioning my disappointment that they got the D&D thing wrong.
I'll also point out, the last line of the section says, "...Dungeons and Dragons is still the original and the best." That's present tense, not a memory. How do they even know the game still exists?
