I'm looking to make a character for a new campaign. We're starting at level 6. I generally come up with a personality that I would enjoy playing, then build a character around that.
This character will be a semi-pacifist. As in, he never wants to deal direct damage to an opponent, instead, he will only work to disable and deabilitate those who attack his party, as well as provide protection for his friends.
I'm looking for any input you guys may have. I was going to specialize in abjuration or enchantment, and get rid of evocation and necromancy... but I like the ability draining spells, and blindness/deafness from the necromancy school... Not that big of a deal though.
One thing that bugs me about most spells is the all or nothing saving throw. It seems WAY too easy for opponents to make saving throws, so I generally skip over spells that give an all-or-nothing save. Any input on this area, and if I'm misguided in thinking this, would be appreciated also.
Anyhow, just any input on how I could pull this off without sucking really bad would be appreciated.
