The DnD table??

How did you do it?

Always at a table, but with a recent caveat.
Growing up, picnic tables, school tables, dining room tables, anything,

When my current group started, we used a round table. It was pretty cool, but then it got replaced with 2 3x6 fold up tables. We have recently moved to projecting the map on the wall, but the tables are there all the same. With 4E, there is so much crap to spread out you need it. Between our wizard and warlord, most of one table is covered with powers.
Throw a couple laptops into the mix, mine and the one running the projector and we're good to go.

I've been toying with the idea of a touch screen table, but when we used the wiimote/IR pen combo, the shorter guys had issues reaching things. Now we just pass a wireless mouse around.

Back when I was a kid, we played at a table.

When I went to college, and grad school, housing and furniture were different, and a good table setup was not generally available, so we typically played lounging around whatever room we were playing in (often a living room, so there was a semi-central coffee table, but that's not really the same).

Now, I own a home, with a dining room, and a dining room table, and the group I have now plays at the table.

At this point, I don't really care if there's a table - the real issue is what setup has decent seating arrangements for the entire group.
