Hullo and welcome.
Today's topic is the Duom. There are 2 types only decided by there proficiency classification.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
- In the Sword and Fist (S&F) which is a 3rd ED. book it states its an Exotic weapon.
Large
Duom 20g 1d8 x3 8lb Piercing
Duom:The duom is a longspear with a standard spear-
head, as well as two blades curved so that they point
backward along the shaft. The weapon has reach, allow-
ing you to strike opponents 10 feet away with it. Those
proficient with the spear can also use it to attack adjacent
foes with the reversed heads with a practiced “reverse
thrust.” Apply a +2 bonus to the attack roll for the first
attack made by the duom against an adjacent opponent.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
- But in the Dragon Compendium (DC), which was first printed in 2005 so its clearly a 3.5 Ed book states its a Martial weapon.

the duom to attack a second adjacent opponent in the
same round you attacked the first opponent. Author:
Jason Bulmahn, Ari Marmell, et al. Source: #331.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my opinion it should not be a Martial weapon cause of the extra combat maneuver it gives the player.
