The e-publishing support group

I agree. Squatting here should be fine. We have an e-publishing forum, so it's the perfect place until we get a new forum somewhere else. Maybe we should just start all related threads with a [EPSG] tag ([e]-[p]upblishing upport [g]roup). Or something like that.

Electronic Publishing Specialist Group already exists
European Petroleum Survey Group
Escola Politècnica Superior de Gandia
Environmental Protection Subject Group

;-)

EPSG should do fine.

Anything you already have in mind to discuss?

Um.. it is the point of this forum actually.
Although the forum is currently open to the general public.... since many new publishers every day, so how would you limit a private forum?

Well, that's the rub. I've got something I'd wouldn't mind tossing out for layout opinions, but I'd rather not post a public link. It will be a free product, but I don't think the general public needs to be exposed to a draft version.

:-)

Well, that's pretty much what this forum is for, although it isn't private. It seems to serve the pupose fairly well, although I'd like to see more publishers contributing to discussions here.

Well and that's sort of what I was thinking, too. Morrus has set up this forum, and we can/should use it. But, for example, if we wanted to solicit general comments, etc. about a product, most probably wouldn't want to post a public link.

I don't know. Maybe we use this for general tips, etc., and for more private things, we can set up a mail list of separate forum or something.

It is nice to have a private way to quietly solicit advice prior to even announcing a project, but if the intention is to allow anyone to join I'm not sure how you'd pull it off. (Plus time can always be a problem, as said.)

Mobynuke is a community site. Post news, host a forum, etc. There's even a section for images. For private group discussions etc. it could be the place to go.

I you could define a good way to figure out who should have access to the private forum, I think Morrus would happily make one here.

How about that there are a couple of ops (DimWhit comes to mind) who add 'publishers' to the list. We could get a big list by just browsing around, new ones could qualify by sending a sample of their work to an op...
