Free League Publishing has announced that its RPG adaptation of Simon Stalehag’s narrative artbook The Electric State will be released on October 1st. The previously announced RPG, which was written by Tales From the Loop RPG writer Nils Hintze will officially be released next month, both with a physical release and a digital release on DriveThruRPG. The game uses Free League's Year Zero Engine and includes artwork created by Stalehag for The Electric State but was never released. A 2023 Kickstarter to fund production of the game raised over $400,000.

The Electric State Roleplaying Game is based on Stalehag's book that depicts an alternative Southwestern USA in 1997 ruined by a massive war that used large drone robots. Netflix is also developing a movie based on The Electric State, with the Russo brothers (of assorted Marvel movie fame) set to direct and Millie Bobby Brown (of assorted Netflix projects fame) set to star.

Today, Free League Publishing is excited to announce that its highly anticipated adaptation of Simon Stalehag’s narrative artbook, The Electric State, will be released on October 1, 2024, in the Free League webshop, hobby stores and digitally on DrivethruRPG.

The description for The Electric State Roleplaying Game is as follows: The Electric State Roleplaying Game asks players to explore themselves, their friends, and what they are willing to do when the world collapses around them.

More information about the game can be found on Free League's website.
