The priestly man leads you into the village and people come out of the huts and longhouses to greet you. Flowers are handed to you with brilliant and colorful blooms that have a sweet and heady perfumed aroma. Each of you are invited into huts to clean yourselves from your journey as well as your equipment. Smiling women lead you on your way. The guides from the Mari tribe are quite happy with their arrival here and assure you that all is well and to enjoy tonight.
The island you have come to is known as Il’Amani to its natives. Your guides call it The Enclave. It is located less than a day’s sail from the pirate city of Cliffport but is not harassed by the residents of that murderous city. The priest is the reason for all of this. He is a powerful sorceror in the words of the natives and your Mari guides. The pirates have attacked several times here in an effort to gain slaves. Some of those raids were led by magic wielders as well. In each instance, the priest of these people was able to thwart the raiders with his magic. It has been a dozen years now since the last raid. The pirates finally learned to look elsewhere for easier prey.
There are far more women than men on the island. You notice this early on and figured that the men were working the fields. That is not the case. Women make up 75% of the adult population. None of them seem shy around the newly found men on the island either. Even Theodus is attracting the attention of some of the shorter natives.
A feast is prepared with short notice and the pigs being roasted by the men in the center of the village are uncovered. The food is amazing. Especially given the meager rations and ship fare you have enjoyed for the past several weeks. There is roast pig, several fresh fruits literally just picked from the trees, a sticky rice dish with nuts and dried fruit pieces, roasted oysters, a salad made from succulent greens and a tart fruit thinly sliced and finally a bowl of shaved coconut mixed with sugar cane and baked until caramelized. You are able to gather the information above from the islanders around you quite readily.
The Mari guides seem to be speaking the truth about this place. It is a paradise for the enjoyment of the pleasures of the flesh. Each of the three guides seems determined to do just that to the best of their abilities with the 2 or 3 native women attending to them.
