The End of the King Lizard.... (Merged "Godzilla Retired")

I dunno, I much prefer Japan doing Godzilla movies than anyone else, even US.

Probably because I grew up seeing that Godzilla over and over than something else.

Blasphemy!

That wasn't a Godzilla movie! That was a movie about a giant monster that was named after the real Godzilla.

I think it was Xander on Buffy who said it best: "Matthew Broderick did not kill Godzilla! Matthew Broderick killed a big, dumb lizard."

Adding my two cents to the Godzilla vs. Godzilla debate, I must admit that I have a passing fondness for the American Godzilla movie. But not as a Godzilla movie. I see it as a remake of "The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms", which is pretty close (big dinosaur comes to New York, tears up some buildings, gets trapped in architecture and gets shot).

Godzilla does not get killed by Matthew Broderick and the Brooklyn Bridge. If he dies, he does it with style, like an oxygen destroyer or an atomic meltdown.

Demiurge out.

i LOVE the american Godzilla movie.

QUALITY entertainment.

one of the best "action" movies ever, still don't comprehend why american audiences didnt eat it up.

the MSG scene was FUN.

Hmmm... that's an interesting perspective. And I liked that movie much better than the original Godzilla movies anyway, which is probably why I liked that movie better!
