Get yourself a fret leveling file and just knock the ends down until they are flush with the wood. You can then take down any sharp corners with a fret dressing file. And then you will likely need to buff out any marks this process leaves on the finish.

pretty good video here:

That was pretty much what I was thinking but the files alone will cost me at least $60. In the 38 years of playing guitar that's the only time I've seen this, so I don't think it's worth the money for the tools, not to mention the time and taping.

I’m a potential disaster every time I grab tools, so I almost always defer to pros when a repair involves something expensive.

(I also don’t have a good space in which to work with tools.)

My buddy also said if you are going to that get your fret board edges rolled too.

I always liked this song. I brought it up to my mother and she told me that because Detroit and Buffalo weren't too far away, he would come to town and was a family friend on the Polish side. He was one of the first people to buy stock in Cocoa-Cola if I'm not mistaken. I never met him, but I guess it's kind of cool to have a connection with him.

Scroll down a bit a it writes about his investments in Ford and Coke

I had one of those “perpetual misfires” kind of days. Almost everything I did today just didn’t quite work out so well.

The topper on the day was I drove a half hour to my favorite local music store, through construction traffic to go buy a Boss looper pedal and a folding guitar practice stool with adjustable footrest. I need the former to workshop some stuff, and the latter because my old one is starting to deteriorate. I could probably buy each online, but I want to throw my locals some dough.

I get there and start looking around. All kinds of good stuff in stock, but not what I’m looking for. So I went to the counter to ask the salesperson I work with most often about ordering my stuff through them…

And their computer system is down.

Gonna have to go back another day.

Well, as it so happens, after several YEARS of waffling, I finally ordered a looper today: a Boss RC-10R. It should arrive in about a week. I had just taken Mom to an appointment literally on the other side of the parking lot from my FLMS, so we stopped in there to put in the order.
