The ENWorld Electric Bard Gear (Etc) Thread

they are HEAVY, like dead body heavy. Moving one was like trying to get a drunk buddy home. 3) because them being so heavy and hard to transport I think they were just at studios more back then. Id suspect that most didnt use them, or didnt know how to, and come 1980's they got tossed in the dumpster.
I’ve actually seen a few in concert.

The last one was when I went to see Joe Bonamassa at a taping of Austin City Limits. He did an acoustic set to open, took a break, then came back out to do an electric set.

His keyboard player at the time was Derek Sherinian, and part of his rig was a Leslie cab. It was pretty big- you could NOT miss it. It was also unmistakably present when he used it because he had it rotating pretty rapidly.

I was gonna say that they were Hammond, Whulitzer or Moog speakers until guitarists started to use them.

I can pick out some effects when its on the radio but when I just hear it I dont always hear it. Andy Summers was good at, regardless of his guitar, amp, pedals, he just had his "Sound"

I’ve seen some of his boards. THREE Klon Centaurs on one of them.

And now, he’s got a signature pedal from Keeley that’s supposedly a hot-rodded version of one of their other pedals.

Theres a story about Chris Steiman from Blondie, He was walking the streets of NYC about 1980 and came across a music shop. He ended up buying "the Box". He had no clue what it was or how to use it. He plugged it in and we got "Heart of Glass". Turned out it was an early synthesizer

You mean this music?

I wouldn’t be surprised if there IS, but it’s probably done in concert only. Like when Fai No More did the Nestle’s theme song.
Yes, exactly. I'ts a fuuny movie, and Im about to watch 2. Now one of the best thing about Airplane is not only is the music good, but well timed

The ThorpyFX Warthog is another great distortion. Very versatile. I’m a big fan of their stuff. I have several of their pedals and haven’t been disappointed yet.

ThorpyFX is one of those companies I never doubt the quality of when I’m buying them online. TrueTone, too. Keeley is another. Catalinbread. Black Arts Toneworks. Earthquaker Devices. Death By Audio. Dr. Scientist. Spaceman.

ARC Effects and Magnetic Effects were on that list, too, but both have ceased production.

And of course there’s boutique brands I HAVEN’T had the good fortune of buying, like Strymon, Chase Bliss and Hologram. Great gear, but very pricey.

Don‘t get me wrong, I’m not all about BOO-TEEK pedals. I’ve got Boss, Line 6, DigiTech and other modestly priced pedals in my arsenal, too.

New model the Waza is it? That pedal gets a lot of hate. I never owned one but I know someone who did. He had a B.C. Rich Warlock and a metal zone pedal, and I recall it having the sound of a guitar played in a steel drum that deposits into a pond. Kidding aside, it had an "Empty, Hollow and Tinny" sound to it, Did they fix that?
I have the old one so can't comment on the Waza. Here's a great example of what it sounds like with a Marshall JCM 800 all cranked to the right though (Warning, very noisy!):

Is that the terrible tone you remember, haha?
