I’ve only seen a Leslie cab in action in person once…and it was by Derek Sherinian (formerly of Dream Theater) as Joe Bonamassa’s keyboard player at Austin City Limits.

Those things are MASSIVE.

Yeah as with most things newer technology has relegated them to obsolescence mostly. Though I've read that nothing really compares to a true Leslie Speaker, but the Hughes and Kettner Rotosphere is pretty close, and thats what Kim Thyail has on his peddle board. You'd have to pay roadies hazard pay nightly to haul those things around.

It’s not sexy, but tonight, I ordered a new practice stool. After years of use, my old one is falling apart

Actually, I ordered 2: one is a duplicate of the one that’s dying, the 2nd is similar, but from a different company, and has a contoured seat. Both were slightly discounted, and I figured the worst that could happen (if they’re roughly the same quality) is that one gets relegated to my secondary practice area.

They are not cheap. About 15-20 years ago I went to the few music stores that were left in the area looking for a drum stool. I had a hard time finding one and when I did, it cost me $70. Still have it but don't use it much after I found a chair with arms that raised, which are rarer than hens teeth.

Nice! I've never found a comfortable seating position. All three of my guitars our SG shaped and just don't "lock in" with my body, so I might need to play around with other styles for a better fit.
