I'm curious what games people are categorizing under "Other." I know that there are a bazillion types of games out there, from all over the world. I'm always looking for something I've never played before...and the more different it is, the better. :)
Peekaboo and/or Hide and Seek with your kids?

Just a nitpick here:

D&D Online is not a VTT program, it's an MMO. And you forgot the big ones like Maptools and OpenRPG, but, that's a really minor quibble.
Right you are. I have updated the text. (Can you tell that I've never played DDO? )

For me:

Jeebus, that's a lot of gaming. You win the prize, man.

But come on: no paintball? Nobody? Man. Back when I lived in Oklahoma, it was all I could think about in the spring. Well that, and bass fishing.

:) I don't know about Peekaboo. Is it a game, or a sleight of hand trick?

Hide and Seek, on the other hand, would be a live-action wargame. It uses a lot of the same rules and concepts: designate a target, track the target across terrain, locate and pursue target, eliminate the target...

Agricola and Catan are very different types of games than chess, checkers, go, or mancala. I'd venture to say they should be different categories.

I haven't played a lot of games lately, though. No time.

In general, I like to play chess and go as my board games.

My Other is telephone pictionary. It's a GREAT group/party game or ice breaker. Apples to Apples is a lot of fun too, and doesn't fit well in any of the categories.

On a side note, there aren't a lot of athletes around here! Seems like we all need to get out and see the sun every once in a while.

In this last month I...

...played GURPS and Changeling and will be running SotC this weekend...

...didn't quite Kill Dr. Lucky (someone else got him)...

...played Guillotine and Gloom...

and did a lot of time on Civ IV. ;)

I kind of felt the same way. I associate board games like Agricola, Catan, and Carcassonne more closely with card games like Race for the Galaxy more than I'd associate them with Monopoly and Chess.

Though I'm a big fan of Euro-style games these days... however I did enjoy Battlestar Galactica a fair bit more than I expected. It's not a game that I could play regularly, but it's definitely worthy of some play. It's nice to see a game based on a television or movie franchise actually be good.
