I teach English abroad and have classes at all sorts of times and have a lot of slack time in between. I also have a luxury of a cable internet access at work with not limits or censorship. All in all very convenient situation for hanging out at enworld. I fear the day I get a 'real' job and will not have time for it.

Another IT guy. THere's some days when I don't get on at all, I'm running around fixing printers and uninstalling viruses. Other days when I'm coding/scripting, and come to message boards for a break or while something is running. Or sometimes I'm just slaking off .

My boss doesn't care, as there's a lot of databases and systems in the plant that I'm the ONLY one who knows how to take care of. If I went in monday and said I was quitting I think he'd dump himself.

When I worked in an office (not Fantasy Flight, this stuff doesn't work on gamers ), I had a jester's hat in my cube. If I was wearing that hat, woe to anyone that tried to even talk to me. I would jump up and act all insane, "CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT I'M WEARING MY JESTER'S CAP?!?!"

That was enough to get them to leave me alone, and after a while I didn't have to go crazy anymore. I could do whatever I wanted when that cap was on. Of course, I usually didn't come in til after lunch anyway.

Lol! Now that is funny! Even better would be to put a plush Cthulhu on your head and yell, CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT I AM WEARING CTHULHU ON MY HEAD?!?!?
I would imagine that would get all sorts of responses.

I work at a medical device manufacturer. Previously I had my own PC at work and could pretty much post whenever I wanted as long as I stayed on top of things. Then I got laid off for six months, so I could post whenever I wanted. They hired me back this week and now I share a computer with my boss, so I can only cruise ENWorld at lunch now.

At present not working, my father talked me into going back to school for my Master's (your never too old for college) since I was "between work" anyway. I got plenty of time to post right now but when I go back to work I'll probably end up out on construction sites so that will limit my posting dramatically, figure I should enjoy it while I can.

I'm in college, so of course I have more free time than I possibly know what to do with. I tend to spend a lot of time here out of sheer boredom, since one quickly sees and does everything that can be seen and done without getting expensive during the long days.

This is amazing, seeing how many people can do things at work. Where I work they are extremely strict about the Internet only being used for work-related things, with firewalls and blocks to keep out most popular sites, including Yahoo, Hotmail, Amazon and Ebay. They also print out lists of Internet Sites visited, with inappropriate ones highlighted, and send that to supervisors. Needless to say, all my ENWorld visits are from home.

One of the players in my group was an I.T. tech, and he used to send out at least 10 e-mails a day to the group from work with various things (mostly jokes) he found on the Internet. We commented about how it seemed like he never did any actual work. His employer must have thought the same, as he got laid off. He now works in the I.T. Dept. of my employer, and we now only average about 2 joke e-mails a week from him, all sent from his home.

Unfortunately my current employer (ISP tech support II) dosn't want us going to "naughty" sites. And everybody knows DnD is the Devil. So they've blocked the site.

Funny thing is I can still get to other forums, and post there.

Okay, I surf from work and know I should not but I spend time of the phone, do a lot of research, graghs, and having to show my boss how to send multible attachments with email. I also am the only person that seems to know what is going on enouth to combine that information and present it where it then gets converted to exec-a-speak.

Otherwise, I dislike my job and visiting gives me a mental break, it does not prevent me from doing my job just make it through the day.
