The Explorers' Guild Launches

December 6, 2004 -- The Explorers’ Guild officially launches today and is entering the tough PDF market. Our immediate goal is to expand the city of Bluffside like no other city has been, creating interesting products that can be used not only in Bluffside but in other fantasy settings as well.

We will offer a fully developed Point of Interest EVERY week, free for download, beginning our expansion of the city. These POIs will be in the style of Bluffside: City on the Edge, but will contain maps and NPCs connected to the location. Most will be 2-4 pages long, and ready to be dropped into your campaign.

Twice a month, the Bluffside Crier will be published, also for free download, adding new life to the city. Each issue will contain news stories, plot hooks, information, and other great things that take place in and around Bluffside. Some stories will be expanded further with downloadable NPCs or locations featured in the Crier.

The Explorers' Guild will also be restarting the Bluffside netbook, lending support and guidance to the people who choose to participate. More information about the netbook can be found here .

Our new website offers information about every aspect of our company, including upcoming releases and our Featured Contest, and forums for direct feedback and interaction from the RPG community. Submission guidelines will also be available for those fans that would like to officially submit something to the Guild.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I am personally elated to see Bluffside getting some support. I went by your website and downloaded the stuff you had available. Good looking stuff. Cant wait to what else you have in the works.

Also, Im not sure if anyone else noticed it or not, but they also have their first Point of Interest available for download. It wasnt linked to in the announcement on the front page, so I figured I would mention it here. Just go into the Downloads section and then into Points of Interest. It is a great little POI involving a map making shop. Very neat.

Everyone at TEG (The Explorers' Guild) is excited at bringing Bluffside back from the edge of oblivion. New POIs for downloading will be available every Monday (always with a map) and the Bluffside Crier is released on the 1st and 15th of each month.

Our first product scheduled for release is Bluffside Ruins -- The Coldwind Forest -- #1 Mogrith's Lair (Mid-December).

Question for you folks

I have to say that Bluffside is probably my favorite setting to campaign in, and the news that it is FINALLY getting supported is wonderful news. I do have a few questions though.

1. Are you guys going to just focus on Bluffside the city or will you also be expanding the world around it? Places like the Coldwind Forest, Perten, Red Mountains, etc.

2. Do you plan on doing more than just the Crier and POIs for Bluffside? Like can we look forward to adventures, etc.

3. Is the best way to help out by joining the Netbook and working with it?

I think thats about it for now. Cant wait for more.

Not only are we going to expand on the city itself, but also the regions around it.

An adventure is already in the pipeline, based in the city.

Please, join the netbook group. That can use more volunteers.
