The Fifth Element Returning to Theaters

Some of us enjoy the cinema experience.
Yep. It’s definitely a different vibe.

It’s akin to the differences between watching The Big Game in person and watching it on TV. Even if you have a killer setup, great food, and are watching with your hand picked inner circle of fans, going to the game still has a special feel to it.

I’ve even had great times going to games in sports I don’t watch.

…just like I’ve had fun with friends going to movies that I wouldn’t normally watch at home.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen the Fifth Element called "Gary Oldman's". I've definitely seen "Luc Besson's" and probably "Bruce Willis's". Maybe even "Mila Jovovich's". But Gary's? He's great in it and all, but definitely not the first name I think of.
I think of it as "Sibyl Buck's Fifth Element," but that's just me.

Funny you should say that. When Disney bought Fox they immediately rescinded availability of secondary market rights to show older flicks. Hurt many small city cinemas :(
As far as I can tell, Disney bought 20th/21st Century Fox films - not Fox Television. The difference probably has something to do with negative charges repelling each other.

Volume, for starters. Games and theaters are super-loud, which probably triggers some hormone for excitement. Plus, there's the whole idea of humans worshiping big things, and the big screen probably plays into that a bit.

Okay, I can see why. But I'm still spending my paper route money on GLHFDD.

Na, Disney got the film and TV rights. It’s Fox News that remained its own thing.

Weird choice for a rerelease in theaters. Kinda silly movie.

It's a movie that has a lot of visual and audio elements that benefit from very high quality movie theater equipment. I've seen it used at more than one home theater-type stores as a demo movie because the bright colors, high contrast, and extreme music scenes are good at showing off what different equipment can do. Knowing that, it makes a lot more sense to me as an excuse to go back to a theater than, say, Oceans 11 or Pretty in Pink, which are also on the list of rereleases.

It's a double irony, because the (now discontinued) "Disney Vault" was all about protecting theatrical re-release of Disney movies from the threat of home video.
