D&D 5E The Flumph!

I want a flumph familiar.
That... would actually be awesome!

Although the spell itself (Find Familiar) is explicit, and it pretty much only gives you access to CR 0 creatures. Even the warlock upgraded version is explicit, although it gives you up to CR 1 creatures, so this might be something you could trade? Maybe if you made a Flumph Pact?!?

I have to say, as someone who has played very little 1E / 2E, my only exposure to this monster was from Order of the Stick. But it's still pretty hilarious. Definitely some potential plot hooks!

I can't get the preview and I don't know what a flumph is. But, not seeing it gave me an idea. When I use flumphs, it'll go like this (I know this is not their normal bit):

Me: you see a flumph.
Player: what does it look like?
Me: it looks flumphy.

The flumph defies imagination.

Me: the flumph flumphs you for 5 damage!
Player: what kind of damage?
Me: flumph damage.

Player: I deal 8 damage to the flumph.
Me: the flumph flumphs to the ground, flumphs a flumph towards you, flumphs, flumphs back with a soft flumph, and flumphs.

I really like how they were able to keep the silliness, but still give it an actual place in a more serious campaign. I'll definitely be using them.

I am, in fact, writing an adventure based around flumphs for my blog currently. A romantic comedy to be exact.

I see it as a Broadway show. Flumphs! The Musical. To be followed, of course, by Flumphs on Ice!

You, sir, just blew my mind.

I'm now thinking of the Great Flumph, legendary badass.

On another note, does anyone see potential for 4e's fell taints as some sort of corrupted flumphs or perhaps a cousin race?

Who's the private disc
Who's a sex machine to the psychic chicks?
FLUMPH!
You daaamn right..

This cat Flumph is a baaad mutha...
(SHUT YO' MOUTH!)
I'm just talkin' 'bout Flumph!
(Ooh, we can dig it!)

All hail the Flumph! I never even knew this was a thing, are they always so weak though? I expected them to be a solo monster.

The stats for flumphs have always fallen short of the legend. Some say the flumphs are hiding their true power. :D

(I think they've pretty much always had 2d8 hit points and fairly low-damage attacks, but my 1e Fiend Folio is boxed up in preparation for a move, so I can't verify that right now.)
