D&D 5E The free online crunch: I don't think it's going to be as much as we think it is.

I think we're going to get...

* Genasi, and perhaps 1-2 additional races (with an elemental theme). Not sure what, but I think/hope goliath is one.
* 30 some spells, covering all the caster-classes.
* An elemental sorcerer bloodline
* An elemental druid order
* An elemental cleric domain (that can handle one or all four elements, mix and match)
* Some new features for Four Element Monks (using the new spells)
* A couple campaign-specific backgrounds

50 pages, no art, and AL-legal.

The module itself with repeat genasi and the spells, as well as some new elemental monsters in the appendix as well as new magic items.

To be honest, given the way it was worded when they did talk about it, I'm expecting fifteen pages of material at absolute best. And that's including the cover. I don't think they ever intended to give us more than that with the Adventurer's Handbook.

It would take very little for them to set up the genasi as a race where you have a basic set of race data, and then pick your subrace to know your elemental affinity. I kinda suspect this is what they'll do, as it removes a lot of the headache from creating each genasi race and saves on pages.

This sounds like a lot to me. I would be more than happy with this much free stuff!

Genasi and a smattering of spells for sure, probably a couple other races. Several subclasses, which which will probably need the zPHB yo be used. Not sure how much, but a bit more than 12-15 pages seems probable. Doesn't matter too much, it will be all the splat that is necessary, and at the right price.

Sounds like a lot, but really its not that hard. Balancing the spells would be the hardest part. Races are dead simple, and elemental subclasses are likewise fairly easy. Most of that page count would be devoted to their font/pagination format.

Unlike something complicated (such as rules modules or new classes) a few character options like this give doesn't require the fine-tuning that 4e powers or 3e PrCs did.

Of course, I'm running under the concept they have about 50 pages of material, enough for a good web-supplement but not enough to pad out a 128 page book...

Sounds about right. How many pages would that take?
4 for the Genasi (most PHB races get 3, but the genasi have more subraces and I guess they'll be more complex).
1 for the druid circle.
1/2 for cleric domain, or possibly 2 if they make four distinct domains.
1/2 for some new monky business.
6-10 for spells (I counted 25 spells in five pages in the PHB, not sure how representative the sample was but I guess OK enough).
1-5 for backgrounds.

All in all, about 15-25 pages.

I think you're overestimating how many spells it will have. My general feeling is that it's probably going to be less than the PHB due to how specialized the spells are.

Otherwise, I agree with everything you've presented.

that's a pretty good break down...add one or two more subclasses, a page or so for a few new feats and 5-10pgs of monsters (or maybe use some of that for a template or two)and it would make me happy... 20-30pgs of new crunch for free would be like a Christmas gift to be honest.

Almost exactly what I think is likely.

I'd say Genasi (one race plus ele subraces), Avariel, maybe Sea Elf or Goliath.
No ele druid, but four ele cleric domains.
About 24 new spells.
Ele sorc, element a list wiz school, ele warlock (aka sha'ir).
