The genie grants you one wish. What do you wish for?

I'd just wish for immortality in the same physical and mental condition I am now.

With some not-too-complicated financial planning, I'd be rich eventually as well.

On the downside, I'd see all my family and friends pass away but that might happen anyway.

And, you'd never be able to learn.

My roommate pointed out an interesting thing I should wish for. Some of you might recall me mentioning my dark elf imaginary friend (long story). Well, it seems I should wish that she was real. I mean, it'd be like seeing an old friend for the first time in a long while, plus she's a sorcerer -- teleport, lightning bolt, invisibility. I think we could have some fun times, and after a few short road trips, we'd be able to easily provide rides for all sorts of ENWorld folks to go to GenCon.

I can learn in my current mental condition so I would be able to continue to do so in the future. Likewise, I can move in my current physical condition so I would able to do that too.

The answers provided by others in this thread aren't particularly qualified. My understanding is that the genie isn't trying to twist the wish. I suggest we stick with that assumption otherwise this thread will degenerate into posters trying to qualify their wishes while others try to deliberately misinterpret them. That might make an interesting new thread but is OT for this one.

Tss, tss, tss... I am disappointed Henry. An old-timer like you should know to be extremely careful when wishing something. So: "few" could be indeed 2, 3, 8, or 5, as much as 1, while "million" is written in singular. So you've got it: one (and only one) million of dollars. Now, as you don't said anything about taxes...

Me, I want to wish for this: I want the ability to multiply at will (and back again to normal), by a factor of 1 to 20, any characteristic of my own physical-mental-spiritual self. Henceforth, I can live probably up to 1500 yeas old, be soooo intelligent that I will have no trouble becoming richer than Bill Gates, and in addition I will have strength, speed, perceptions, etc. of a superhero.

Id wish to have control over the entire electromagnetic spectrum at a whim.

The very thing that binds the universe together. From Radio Waves and Xrays to Gamma Rays and Red Shift Waves (Infrared/Heat)

Control over this in effect gives me control over all matter and creation. A simple shift in electrons here and there and poof....

Infinite Potential limited only by the power of my imagination........which is also limitless..........

Yeah, but you HAVE to assume the genie will try to screw you over - they do in all the serious genie stories. That's why I'd take MY genie to see my lawyer.

It would have been better if the granter of the wish had been a benevolent wizard.
