The Godzilla Standard of Architecture

I was just thinking that a geeky and maybe funny way to measure building sizes using a comparitive unit like foot or stone would be to use Godzilla. For the sake of simplicity I will suggest he be measured in at 300 ft. That would make the Burj Khalifa, the current tallest building in the word, an astounding nine Godzillas tall. And that is using the Godzilla height measurement in the upper range (using smaller Godzillas could net a height of almost 18 Godzillas).

I mean, really. Would you rather say it is "about 2700 ft. tall" , or it is "about 9 Godzillas tall" ?

It's not as cool as using Galactus as a unit of measure.

"Holy crap Godzilla is 1 galactus tall!"

"Omg the Burji Khalifa is 1/2 a Galactus tall!"

"Wtf how is the Sears tower 10 Galactuses tall?!?!?!"

I don't wanna start another light-sabre duel or nothing over this but I think Godzilla would eat Galactus for lunch and then crap a Rodan and an Incredible Hulk.

I'm just sayin...

The problem with using Galactus as a measurement of scale is that his size is variable, depending upon how well he's feasted on planetary energies recently. I remember one fight he had with the Fantastic Four and the Avengers where they commented on how small (in comparison) he was due to his recent lack of sustenance.

Godzilla has a similar problem, in that over the years he has increased in size, but at least Kaodi defined his terms in the original post with a straight 300 feet.

While Godzilla is indeed an interesting way of measuring buildings, since Godzilla is a product of Japanese culture, that would make a Godzilla akin to a Metric System measurement, therefore in the U.S. we should use something wholly our own, therefore I propose the King Kong.

Roughly the same height according to the "Godzilla Vs King Kong" movie of the 60s and likewise since it had two endings (G in the Japanese release, KK in the U.S.) two separate systems are in keeping with that fine tradition.

You just made American Godzilla sad.

Imagine how it feels to be him er... her... even Cloverfield is more appreciated then she was.
