I think it's a great choice. Paizo spent 10+ years investing heavily in the setting and built a vast, rich cache of lore, and I'm sure it has built up a strong sense of identity with players. In some ways Paizo has been more about the APs than the rules, and the APs all about the setting come to life. This seems like a great decision by Paizo.
