The Great Iridium Con

"Sounds like we're headed to the lab, Doc.", Titan says, looking around to see if anyone disagrees.

"AHEM", Titan loudly clears his throat. "We need to do something before we run out of time. Let's start at the lab." Titan begins walking towards the Dark Purple Outlander, patting Handsome on the back to follow him.

OOC: We probably need to just roll this game along to the next scene. Nothing like a little activity to get the characters back in it. ;)

"The lab it is then." you pile into the Doctor's Outlander and are off.

Iridium Vale is one of the odder cities you have ever seen. The architecture is like out of a bad 1950s Sci-Fi Movie. Small Electric Hybrid Cars abound. The Public Transit seems to be a Monorail that snakes its way through the upper reaches of the small city.

It seems like a Theme Park more then a College town. Yet you see Coffee Houses on every block, and a weird mix of Techie nerds mingling with 70s hippie throwbacks.

On the other side of town you eventually reach Dr. Stoner's lab. Dupont talks to Security for a moment and you are let into the rather plain looking 2 story building. (Plain especially in contrast to the bizarre landscape that makes up most of the city.)

The lab is on the second floor taped off from the rest of the building. Most of the lab has been picked over and some essential research has been cleared out. Besides the obvious remnants of Forensic Investigations the lab looks otherwise normal in its contents.

OOC: Actions?

"Let's all poke around. Sierra, can you do that post-cog thing to see if you pick up anything.", Titan says, trying to fill a leadership void.

OOC: Do you mind rolling search and notice checks for me.

"Postcog? Ewwww, that name is awful...I'm not even sure I want to do it anymore if you call it that. It hurts the ears," Sierra says, half-joking but half-serious, before calling up the phantoms, the oneiroi of this place's dreams and hearing the whispers of the past.

(OOC: Yeah, it's postcog  )

[sblock=Sierra]Calling upon the power of the Sons of Hypnos, Circe concentrates and draws dreamstuff from the Other Realm. Images swirl and coelesce before her eyes.
She sees Doctor Laura Stoner going over some schematics. A pencil thin beam of light shoots through the second story window. It hits Stoner in the back and effortlessly pierces her body exiting her chest. Death is instantaneous.

Further using her powers the wall of the building seems to wash away as she attempts to identify the assassin. However the image outside is hazy, diffuse and distorted, as if something is interfering with her power. The best she can make out is that the image is humaniod and flying away at great speed.[/sblock]

[SBLOCK=Sierra]There is no flapping but you almost get the sense of wing-like protrusions, but it is difficult to say definitely.[/SBLOCK]

"It was a flying assassin with a beam of light from outside the lab. Not very useful, but that's what happened just before her death," Sierra yawns slightly, though it isn't clear why. Perhaps she is bored, or simply tired after the long flight.

"Like a laser?", Titan asks trying to search for any hidden clues.

OOC:did we find anything else in our searching.
