How could a channel run by the Government of America's biggest ally be Anti-American?
The BBC isn't state-run, it's state-funded. There's a difference. Currently in the UK, the BBC is hammering away at the Government's credibility, and accusing it of deliberately lying and misleading parliament and the public. A state-run channel wouldn't be able to do this.
And I wouldn't say the BBC is particularly anti-American, either. It's usually impartial, but when people start shooting their star reporter and his crew, it's understandable they'd be pissed.
They're also the Second-least biased news channel we've got. Only Channel 4 beats them (IMO, at least).
