The Hulk Trailer

The main reason why it might fail is the similarity with the plot of X-2. Once again mutant vs the military. However, it should still do quite decently. After all it is Ang Lee.

I really loved the trailer for the hulk. I like the fact that he looks slightly unreal. How real should a giant, green humanoid look? I also love the fact that he is so freaking HUGE. Every seen had me drooling and saying, "YES!!! THIS IS THE HULK!!!" :)

It looks like it combines the general feel of the very begining of the Hulk series and some of the Peter David era Hulk.

Do you think this will appeal to the mass audience, especially women, I think it will be much harder to get my wife to see the Hulk than X-Men or LotR.

I think they could have done a bit better job on the Hulk. I mean Gollum is totally CGI and he looks as real as Frodo or Sam. But it is a good point, it trying to find someone as Big. I mean the Hulk is supposed to be a big mass of muscle, and I really can't think of anyone that would fit. I would an actor in there not just some meat head body builder. Sure they could have tried to use Michael Clarke Duncan, the guy from Green Mile and Daredevil, and used the camera angels from Green Mile to make him appear bigger than everyone else, but I don't think it would have been the same.

One other thing, I never remember the Hulk being able to run super fast. I remember him being able to jump over 1 mile, but not run faster enough so you need a helicopter to keep up with him. I mean that is fast!

All in all though, the movie has peaked my interest. I will more than likely check it out in the movies after it has been out and I can use my free passes my brother gave me for my birthday! :)

Well I'm of the opposite opinion, I thought the CGI was outstanding. It was definately top notch. I think its rather easy for people to discount a films CGI when they don't understand the limits of the technology. When you have a character that is completely CGI, it will not be 100% real looking. Not yet anyway, the technology still has a ways to go before a complete CGI character will be 100% realistic looking.

Since when is lack of ability an excuse for poor work? Just cause they can't make an awesome looking Hulk doesn't mean I can't whine about it :p ! Anyway, it doesn't look any worse than LotR or Episode II. I'm still surprised by Blade II's having outdone all of these movies when it came to believable cgi of the actors in fight scenes. It's looking like Matrix Reloaded will disappoint here too, but I'm betting on the big screen it will hardly be noticeable. Just don't watch it on a monitor..

Hulk still looks great though. The insane displays of raw power are just too fun to watch.

I must say that I didn't like the look of the CG Hulk character. It didn't look remotely real. As someone mentioned Gollum looked very real.

But even the worst movie ever made has its fans. Which just proves the old saying "there's no accounting for taste."
