The Iconic Characters - DEAD!!!!

I don't think they look at all like the Iconics. I think that it's just WAR's bad art. :)

I know you must be joking.

WAR is easily the most talented artist WotC has. Not in their history, of course, but I find his style very dynamic and it looks great in colour and black & white (something a lot of other artists suffer at).

Guess we'll have to start up a morgue thread for all those dead iconics now. Their ghosts and spectres can haunt it from now on ;)

oh my, WAR is by far my least favorite artist in WOTC, with perhaps the exception of whoever did the paladin in the PHB. All of his art has poor anatomy and its so flat. So, so bad. They are so, so, i don't really have enough words to describe adequately the amount of loathing i have for about 95% of what WAR does. And all of the faces he draws are terrible, like someone flattened out a face and pasted them onto a mannakin's head. yuck.

Sam Wood and Todd Lockwood are by far the best "regular" artists that WoTC has. Anyone else agree??

I am of the opinion that unless you can draw better than an artist, you have no right to denounce his work. Still like Lockwood's work the best, though.

By that same "logic", you can't criticize a game product unless you're capable of putting out a better product. You can't criticize a movie unless you're capable of putting out a better movie. You can't criticize a book unless you can write a better book. It's a ludicrous criteria. If someone wants to criticize art, then they're entitled to criticize it, no matter how great or how inept they are artistically. You don't need to know how to draw to be able to use your EYES, after all.

arguing over art is only pointless if you aren't right. ;)

Well I guess we won't be hearing from you anymore :D

Green Knight - Yes. Yes. Yes. I think the internet would implode in on it self if this kind of criteria was used ;)
