The Iconics are out in force

Acrobatic Strike
Okay, this is Lidda, right? Well, in the PHBII, the description text says "an elf uses Acrobatic Strike"

Yep. That's her.

Almost as dumb as the Dwarven AND Halfing mix-ups in PGtF

Shoddy editing.

I have to say though that the artwork in here in top-notch - overall some of the best in any Wizards product to date. The Expanded Classes have some great pics, with Gimbel looking pretty spiffy, Jozan looking very regal and with a wicked mace,

That's one of the best pics of him I'd seen!

Gimble doesn't look half-bad either.

and by far Alhandra's best picture to date - hell, it almost makes me want to play a pally with that uber-aweosme picture!

I think they swiped the idea from the basic desc. of my pally.... except mine's a half-dragon... :) One ready to kick major evil ass! :]

These are along the same lines, if not better, than the depictions of their epic versions in the ELH.

Well, they did have books written about them. It was a house name, so I'm not sure if they had fixed personalities. I've always wanted to read a couple, but those aren't books I'd pay full price for and even the discount stores tended to have them at above average prices.

IMO, they're worth the $6 cover price. I enjoyed all of them but they could've been longer. And they written more fleshed out, personality-wise. I thought it was funny that Jozan got all puppy-eyed over Alhandra in one book....

They’re used frequently, widely recognized, but I’ve never seen them used to in any manner that was interesting… with the exception of (contact)’s story hour of course.

Who? And, more importantly, WHERE?!?!

Do any of them have a personality? Or a background?

Only some in the short line of novels based on them. Each had about 3 or 4 per book in them. Some using the basic "formula" for a party and some "unconventional" party builds. There was some development, including a "mirror" of the fight between Heironeous and Hextor in Alhandra and someone introduced in one of the novels who she's "close" to.

I seem to remember a lot of the iconics getting it on in those books.

Mialee had a rather torrid fling with Devis, proving that love is blind, or drunk, or something. Although I remember the book giving the impression that Mialee was kinda...*cough* easy *cough* That was a fun book though, if only because Sevilis kept dropping a weapon every time he tried to dual-weild.

Hennet and Ember had a thing going, but broke up by mutual agreement, as I recall.

Redgar had a long running relationship with the all but forgotten iconic human wizard.

I don't think Vadania or Lidda ever hooked up with anyone.

Krusk got no love, except for teaming up with an all girl party. Actually, I think he did have a one-eyed non iconic girlfriend....been too long.

No love for Nebbin, either. Although his competition in the "Wizards Cup" was just funny.

Better, IMO.
