The Iconics are out in force

Hey now, I'll have you know that Hennet spends an hour every morning waxing, oiling, and buckling himself in order to prep himself for spellcasting. Apparently his confusion can be traced back to a paticularly senile old teacher who gave him the lasting impression that there is a powerful and enduring link between Chip n Dale dancers and dragons.
As for Mialee, I think it's instructive to note that she's the most skimpily dressed iconic, despite being noticeably less busty than say, Lidda. Say's a lot about her personality, I think. I noticed on the Todd Lockwood site that she was originally supposed to be a Sorceress....that might explain the get-up, anyway. I can just see Mialee getting tossed out of the Sorceress guild for having about as much charisma as Krusk, but keeping the outfit out of spite. That and she forgot to comb her hair for the last 67 years.
And Naul, man....who even remembers the iconic human Wizard? It's like Kerwyn completely being upstaged by Lidda, without the looks card to play. Poor girl.

And then there's Soveliss...if you look closely at his PHB debut picture, you can see that he's just as embaressed at his get-up as everybody else. I bet the behind-scenes-studio action went like this.
"Hey Sovelis!"
*Dark, confident looking Soveliss* "Yeah"
"I know your big color treatment is coming up, and we've been thinking..."
"About how awesome I'll look?"
"Exactly...the thing is, we think you might be a little too awesome."
"What!!?"
"Well, you know, your're a Ranger. Rangers are almost ninja-level cool. And you're an Elf, which is worth +2 cool points. And you use two swords, which makes you way too cool to put you in the book without making Hennet and Mialee feel like trash."
"Yeah, well, sucks to be them..."
"Don't worry buddy, we've got the perfect solution to tone things down a bit...Now don't look so nervous! All we're gonna do is slap this gaudy green armor on you that looks like your mommy made it for you to wear at christmas. Not only is it sparkley neon green, with brassy high-lights, but it includes a leaf shaped crotch piece, and a helmet that will completely cover your hair and make you look like even more of a dork."
"My mom put you up to this, didn't she?"
"She may have helped out a bit, yes. She says you'll be the most cutsie-wutsie ranger ev-er! "
*picture shoots begins*
"Oh come on Soveliss, take it like a man! Stop slouching darnit!...and no crying! Rangers don't cry!"

Love??? Those buckles are the only thing keeping him from inspiring revulsion in sane humanoids! Were they to be removed, the taint of his unnatural heritage would be unmistakable. And no one would be fooled into thinking it was the blood of dragons that oozed in his veins. Mark my words, his bloodline does not come from hereabouts and neither angel or fiend can say exactly where it does seep from.
