The Iconics are out in force

One of these days, I need to get that. Somewhere around here, I have the demo. But the only time I ran it, it acted wonky.

I own it. It's actually halfway decent. It's entertaining, at least. Lidda is cool., and even Regdar is pretty damn funny. Only problem character is that blasted priest of Heironious. he's a dink.

If you get the Wrath of the Dragon God DVD, the Iconics do a voice-over commentary on the extras part of the disc. The bits I've listened to are quite funny. Even though I think Jozan needs some "pick-me-up". He's most definitely a bit of a dink in this one. A funny dink but a dink nonetheless. Lidda is quite funny in this one. And so is Krusk.

Presuming you mean HENNET, the best you can hope for is this pic from the PH II.
Now with an epic level buckle fetish!

For the love of God, man. You should have hundreds of thousands of GP at your level. Put on some clothes.

Why spend it on clothes if you can spend it on....... MAGIC ITEMS!!!!!

PS: Our group was soooo PO'ed when they nerfed the magic carpet.

He spent them on The Emperor's New Mantle of Studliness.

Charisma +8, DR 10/-, glamours itself to look like rock hard abs and pecs of steel.

Actually he's all flabby and whatnot underneath.

My favorite has to be them approaching the Caves of Chaos!
I LOVE that pic. As someone else said, I want to see it as a Wallpaper. It contains a sense of wonder about it, like they are new players, and they don't know what challenges they will face.

Agreed. That and Heroes at Rest are already two of my favorite pieces of D&D art, and almost worth the price of the book by themselves. They make the D&D adventuring experience seem almost real.
Where is this picture from? Like the Caves of Chaos, this one is great too.

I REALLY like the new artwork overall. Dragonpunk/anime is out, classic is in. Reminds me of the 2e stuff (IMO 2e had the best art direction). The art gives a real sense of epic adventure rather than hack and slash combat like most 3e art.
I like anime, but I agree. I did not like the combo punk/anime style. You can get the 2nd edition feel in anime (like Record of Lodoss War) but the two combined... The characters seem too capable in the images. While compared to other art in 3E, they seem like typical 1st-level characters, but when jumping from 2ed art to 3E, it was a huge difference. At least they are now showing the excessive amount of magical items carried by the characters that a typical PC would have in D&D.

Do any of them have a personality? Or a background?
Multiple personalities. Regdar in the DVD was a different Regdar than in the novel that I read . Lidda seemed consistant.

I say we petition to get Jozan the cleric a set appearance, and perhaps a petition to revise Mailee's appearance. :)

He sure needs one!

And Mialee needs to see the game setting's version of a plastic surgeon!

Well, there was that race of insects that traveled wildspace.

Is it possible to get a face lowering? Her eyes need to be a little less... Alien?

Not to mention a whole new 'do. Her hair needs less frizz; more pizazz.

Granted, she needs to quit hanging out with her old bf, the 3.0 blackguard dude. She needs someone more snazzy.

Just replace her with the blond elf. The Wotc new D&D magazine ads are doing that already. She was a mistake that broke with tradition without reason. I am still trying to figure out which ethicity they hybrided into elven to accomplish that look in the PHB 1. :p

Even though the R&D boys were convinced that the iconic fighter for marketing would be a dwarf, I knew that a human fighter would be adopted first. For that reason, I intended him to be as racially ambiguous as possible–he should look like he could belong to any race, or none at all. Tordek the dwarf graced the covers of all the early product, but Regdar the human fighter made the first appearance on standees and posters. The detail on the right is Regdar at 5th level, in the armor that defines him best.

For the record, I did not name him. He was named by people who did not want a human fighter as the poster boy…

Todd's site has a good amount of insight on the gestation of 3E. Apparently his sketch of the gnome with the auto-crossbow kept gnomes IN 3E.
