The Invasion of Baskrant (southbound) Judges: N/A, DM: Cute-Hydra

The dragon still reeling from the bolt from Alnar is in a perfect position for Vimak to deliver the final strike, swinging the halberd embewed with flaming runic energy into the Dragons scaly chest. The dragon stands still for a good ten seconds with a look of "no it can't end this way". Before it slumps to the ground dead. Strangely in it's death pose the dragon looks more sad than vengefully angry which can be more than what said for the rest of the dead humanoids littering the area.

OOC: Congratz you beat a dragon, i'l do an update when I get back XD

Okay, the bridge is clear, the dragon felled, the hogboblins crushed. In the distance you can see a mountain range.

[sblock=dungeonering DC 25]

The dragon is likely to have a lair somewhere in the mountain range. Where it may have stashed any valuables it had.
[/sblock]

No immediate patrols of Baskrantian soldiers seem to be in the area.

Kamotz reaches out, grabbing the horses reins again, and petting the beast on the snout.

Bloody, burnt, and smiling Kamotz kneels, Lauto, Accept this as my first offering unto you since the offering of my own life. May each of the corpses you send me be as great. bashing his flail into his shield to end the prayer, Kamotz stands, and swings back atop the horse.

*SNUFF* Who's next, are we done? Kamotz feels his body restoring itself quickly, his armor, would need serious attention. Kamotz rides across the battlefield slowly, Can any of you detect trace amounts of magic? Search these bodies, leave only enough to cross the river, take the rest. *Sniff* I love the smell of fresh Death! The shifter shakes his head roughly, and laughs. Where did that beast come from anyway?

Moving close to Siv, Kamotz looks down, I was wrong, seems I should stay near you... Thanks for delaying my meeting with the Keeper. Kamotz smiles, You're more dangerous than you let on. With a wink, Kamotz salutes Siveris.

You're more dangerous than you let on. With a wink, Kamotz salutes Siveris.

"Yes, quite," Siv replies, voice pitched low so only Kamotz can hear, a bloodthirsty smile momentarily flickering across his face. "And you yourself proved an excellent bait- er, that is foil to the dragon's fury. I predict we will make a formidable team."

Then, wiping the sweat from his brow with a silken handkerchief the gnome joins the rest of the party in searching the fallen. "Excellent shot," he says with a nod to Alnar. "I was beginning to think the beast would never go down."

"Now then, there is one small matter we should discuss. My medicated infusions kept our ferocious furry friend here alive, despite the dragon's best efforts, but I'm afraid I have used them all. Should we run into another foe like this," he indicates the corpse of the great beast, "we will no doubt want to have a few on hand. The trouble is, I need a half-pint of blood to concoct a new infusion." Siv pulls a small silver lancet from his belt pouch, and glances around at the group. "Do I have any volunteers?"

OOC: I'll offer up one of Siv's surges, since he took no damage this battle. But, does anyone else have one to spare to replenish Siv's other healing infusion? In combat the infusions provide surgeless healing or typed damage resistance, and they're a good way to pool surges so that those with many surges can use theirs to benefit those with less.

Only a pint? No trouble at all, Kamotz holds his arm out expectantly, waiting for the familiar sensations to start. When he realizes the gnome isn't able to reach, Kamotz swings down from his new warhorse and again presents his arm.

Does anyone know how to care for this? Kamotz indicates the horse, The temple has a stables, the shifter looks around as if the temple would be on the other side of the bridge. I'll have to find a horse master for training...

Shifting his thoughts Kamotz smiles widely again, HA Just a dragon!

OOC: Brings Kamotz to 5/9 HS

"Alright. This won't hurt... much," Siveris says with a pleasant smile as he plunges the lancet into the shifter's arm. After drawing another half-pint from himself, the small gnome spends a few moments adding various powders and a couple drops of a viscous black fluid to two glass vials before pouring in the collected blood. He stirs each vigorously, then immediately corks them as they begin to bubble and emit a hissing sound.

"There now," he declares in satisfaction. "This should stand us in good stead if we run into another dragon. Though," he adds noting the condition of the rest of the party, "perhaps we should run away from, rather than toward the next dragon we see."

[sblock=dungeoneering, healing]Dungeoneering 25, just enough. (1d20+7=25)

Lenard spends 2 surges to get to 25/28 hp. 4/7 surges remain.[/sblock]
Lenard walks slowly across the bridge to join with the others. He winces in pain and stumbles with the first few steps, but the remaining traces of acid have neutralized by the time he reaches the dragon's corpse.

"If I may..." Lenard points to the mountain range in the distance. "The dragon would likely have kept a nest in that sort of terrain. Tracking down the lair will afford us time to recover from the battle, and the path will almost certainly be 'dragon-less' as our sorcerer friend requested. We might also confiscate whatever treasure the hobgoblins compensated the dragon with."
