"Sorry my lord, I am not used to these formal procedings, and i was worried to simply release a torrent of questions at you. But as you are busy; and my companions seem somewhat quiet, I shall plough ahead. "

"The man that has gone missing from within the walls; 'Elder Laith' I believe Sakura said his name was, had he been acting normally before he disappeared? Would it be possible to have a look in his home? we may find some clue that could help us to find him while we are out kobold hunting."

"Speaking of which, when your guardsman gives us this map with the kobold nest on it, would it be possible to have the locations of the other missing person's homesteads marked out too please? Perhaps we can appease my curiosity at the same time as turning up a few lost citizens!"

"Who is this Valthun you speak of?"

Cheysuli gives Lord Hastesh her most winning smile; she sensed that he would refuse to believe that there could be any nefarious activeties going on in his town. A blindness in the old dragonborn that frustrated her, but at the same time she respected , for (she felt) it was born from a love of his people. She would just have to bring him proof if that's what it would take to get his help.

The lord smiled serenely at Chey.

Silence is both a virtue and a curse my young fountain of exuberance. But despair not for yours is an exuberance born of good will and intention. As for the map, you will receive that from Valthun. He is as close as Maoleth comes to a sage, and a dear friend of mine from my days served in the legion. He is wise in many matters both arcane and mundane. I'm certain he can indicate the farms that were ransacked when he provides you with a map.

As for Elder Laith there is not much to tell. Years ago he ran a general store, but he passed the torch to
Bairdon Williams who showed up several years ago from Daunton. An enterprising dwarf for certain, always has more then you could possibly want on hand. Perhaps Bairdon would be the one to ask, Laith passed the old shop everyday on his way to market. Surely Bairdon would notice when the old man went missing.

Now if you'll excuse me I must tend to the day to day runnings of the town. Thank you for honoring my ancestors this morning, and may they shine on your endeavors. Captain Koji will escort you out.

Looking to the guard awaiting you, you are finally able to put a name to the silver scaled Dragonborn who escorted you to the garden.

This way. He remarks before turning crisply and heading for the entrance to the garden.

[sblock=ooc] Could I just get a quick check/count on who all is still around. We've been slow the last few weeks on the posting and I'd like to see us back up at the rate we were going in the beginning if possible. Also has anyone heard from Rumleech? Is he recuperating?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC] I'm very much still about, but i was cautious of posting too much when noone else was about and turning this adventure into the 'Cheysuli Show!'. I'm loving the whole atmosphere of the campaign Uk, keep it coming :p[/sblock]

Cheysuli stands when Lord Hastesh does and manages an awkward bow, "Thankyou for your time my lord."

Once the group is on its feet, map in hand and heading back into the town proper, she turns to her companions; eyes full of a mischief raring to be let out after such a formal gathering, and says, "So, where are we going first? We could have a snoop around the missing elder's abode, or we could go to the temple to find out what we can about siezing control of Patronis' demon, or or or... We could head straight out and collar us some kobolds... Or i suppose we could go see the book guy."

Miranna followed the others out of the garden, obviously happy to be done with the uncomfortable formality of the meeting. "We ought to go see this Valthun, to get a map," she growled. "Hopefully with the unfortunate farms located on it. Then we go hunt some kobolds. Whatever is going on in town is a bigger mystery, but it isn't why the shogun wanted us here, and it isn't what we agreed to do. Maybe, once we're done with the rat-lizards, we can poke around here and investigate a bit- perhaps we'll find some clues or connection in the kobolds lair, or the goodwill and fame we earn by vanquishing them may open doors her in town that would be closed now, since we are barbaric outsiders..."

As you finally exit the compound and begin to converse amongst yourselves, Captain Koji points off to the south at a lone tower rising from the western side of town.

That is Valthun's tower there, he will receive you at Lord Hastesh's behest. Be wary however, while he is my lord's companion of old he often keeps his own agenda.

Face puckered as if speaking of Valthun leaves a sour taste in his mouth, Koji salutes sharply before turning and heading back inside the manor, gates closing behind him with a clunk that smacks of dismissal.

[sblock=ooc] No worries, I get that it's just been a busy time for all of us. Life events, family committments, whatever it is. I'd just like to see us power through this first visit to town, and really get into the meat of the adventure. Believe it or not by the time you guys finish this adventure you'll all theoretically be around level 4 or 5, so you've got lots to go yet :D

And glad to see most everyone up and around. I'm going to PM rumleech to see if I can find out how he's doing. I have no intention of cutting him out however as it's not by his own choice that he's absent. So as long as all you guys, and our illustrious judge are ok with it, I plan to keep him around and not penalize his absence.[/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]I'm fine with it, and still around, I completely understand a situation like his. Mine's not that bad but haven't felt much in the way of roleplaying a diplomatic character lately, by all means Chey, take it away if no one else is posting for a couple days.

Anyway, great story so far and I can't wait to see what else is in store if this is gonna be a full on epic adventure like that! [/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]I'm fine with you keeping Mr. Bricks around, ukingsken. If anyone else has some method of getting in touch with him (I don't think so, but you never know), it might be good to try that.

If we don't hear from him in a couple more days I'll go digging and get his email address and see if I can get in touch with him that way.[/sblock]
