The Jade Frontier (DM: Ukingsken, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

OOC: Look, don't bring a mailed fist to a hammer fight. BTW, does anything happen after the completion of Firete's song? If not, Yishim sorts out accommodations and late in the evening we retire to our rooms. Firete and I need word of the fake letter to the spy to spread.

Upon the conclusion of Firete's song there is a smattering of polite applause. The bartender leans over and mutters, "Sorry about that, miss. Nothing wrong with your song; there's just a bad feeling going around town it seems."

If anyone was paying special attention, you didn't notice.

Cheysuli Sage

Cheysuli quickly washes herself at the cauldron, indifferent about the company. She replaces the padding from her leather armour before putting it back on, when everyone is finished with the hot water, she puts the dirty in to soak and takes it off the coals. She takes 10 minutes to comb her hair through then braids it back up into a somewhat less messy do. Chey finishes getting ready by puting on a light silver silk-like dress that makes her look more feminine (and covers her armour as well).

"I'm ready too, I'm keen to find out what the Lord will think of our plan."

Miranna cleaned up as best she could- she knew that some of the damage to her armor and jacket was going to require serious repair (or replacement). She did switch to a new jacket over her armor, again concealing the gruesome kobold necklace inside her armor. With her new sword securely slung in place, she was ready as well.

OOC: So no sign that the others (Bricks, Patronis, Shayla) made it back to the house? I guess we'll have to ask the Lord about that as well- especially since Shayla had a prisoner...

Though a little disappointed with the lack of results from her song, Firete manages not to show it. She thanks the bartender and wallks back to Yishim.

It was a good idea, but sometimes good ideas need a little bit of time to work. Perhaps we should eat then retire for the night, and if nothing else happens tomorrow we might be able to get some information from the merchants. I think one of the others mentioned there was a merchant from Daunton somewhere about, perhaps we should start with him.

[sblock=OOC]Straight after this, Firete and Yishim will probably go to their rooms though there's one thing I need to RP before this and presumably the meeting with the Lord will take place[/sblock]

As you walk through Maoleth towards Lord Hashteth's residence, you notice that many of the townspeople you pass seem intent upon avoiding your gaze. However, it is getting late in the evening, so perhaps they just are trying to get home as quickly as possible.

A guard stands outside the gates of Lord Hashteth's estate, clearly waiting for your arrival. "Welcome. Our lord awaits your meeting. Follow; I will bring you to him." He leads you through the gates and back to the magnificent garden you met Lord Hashteth in earlier. Although the sky is dark, the garden is brightly lit by numerous ornate lanterns. The lord is there, looking just as regal as before. Your companions also sit nearby. Shayla smiles politely at your appearance, Mr. Bricks grins widely, and Patronus nods towards you.

Lord Hashteh addresses you,
"Welcome back. I am pleased to see you have returned unharmed. I also understand that you have something you wish to tell me."

Meanwhile, at the Iron Lotus:

You are able to procure rooms at a reasonable price (ooc: effectively free).

Cheysuli Sage

Chey manages to restrain the urge to run across the courtyard and hug her friends, instead her grin widens so much it threatens to take over her whole face.
She walks over to the seated group; letting her fingers run through the leaves of the bamboo lining the path, and kneels between Patronis and Mr. Bricks, before looking up at lord Hashteth; "Indeed my lord, Assuming that our companions here have told you all that occurred before we took our separate paths, it only remains for us to tell you that we have exterminated the kobold nest as was our mission. But in the act we have discovered evidence of baser deeds going on in your valley, in your town even..."

Chey trails off, loosing her confidence when she realised that a hint of 'I-told-you-so' was creeping into her voice. Nervously she looks at Miranna and Bren to continue the story.

Miranna stepped forward a pace, and after giving an appropriate bow, she picked up the thread of Chaysuli's report. "Certainly, between our initial skirmishes and the battle under the waterfall, we killed every kobold we could find, and it did not look as if the lair would have housed more than the ones we killed. But among the last bunch were two leaders. One, whose body we turned in to your guards, was styled as 'The Emissary', and the fell power of shadow seemed to flow from its body as a fire produces smoke. There was also a shaman of their folk, whose last words promised that we would never defeat the 'master of the keep', their master's 'most glorious servant'." She paused, allowing those words to sink in. "We also found a scroll, which made mention of a rift which would be opened in a few days- there was mention of a spy within Maoleth as well..." She paused again, looking at Cheysuli and Brenwar to see if either had anything to add.
