As Brenwar prays the fires surrounding the sarcophagi flicker and begin to die. One by one, they are reduced to a mere glow. Upon the completion of the prayer, one of the captains reforms in front of Brenwar. However, rather than attacking the paladin, it simply bows its head. Then it, and the fires, disappear.

You hear someone giggle. The sound seems to come from all around you before fading away.

[sblock] I think a short rest is in order- if so, Miranna will spend one surge, hopefully with Firete's Song of Rest. I think we may also wish to examine whether we intend to press on- while we are under time pressure, I think we are getting close to the edge of our resources. The thought of leveling up before we tackle the rest of the bad guys is also tempting. Thoughts? [/sblock]
 

Visibly relieved at the sight of the ghosts retreating, Firete sheathes her sword and starts to play her harp to help everyone recover. Deliberately choosing a song that is light and lilting to dispell the gloom.

We should continue, if Chey can. There is a great evil in this place, and we must not waste time in expunging it.

Brenwar, that was incredible. Those souls have been tormented for far too long. I wonder what else we'll discover in this place.
