The Jade Frontier, part 2 (DM: THB, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

A bolt of energy slams into the Berzerker, pushing him back into the grasping tentacles. As they reach towards his mind, he agains finds his progress slowed.

Yishim wiggles a finger and the markings on the floor start to shift, just as Yishim move away from the action.
[sblock=Tactics]We should really take out the acolyte. Those skeletons are going to get annoying soon, and I'll need help on the east side once I run out of ways to slow down the Berzerker. I have another turn I think I can keep him out of melee...[/sblock]
[sblock=Actions]Standard: Phantom Bolt vs. Bezerker Hits for 8 and slide him into J24. This is in the grasping shadows zone and should result in 5 more psychic damage plus he's slowed until the end of his next turn. I think I'm reading this correctly, because it rocks.
Minor: Can I mage hand the funny symbol in G16 to screw it up? If so, let's do it, unless my character would know better than that

Chey steps forward and fires a brilliant bolt of energy at Kumori. The necromancer reflexively attempts to block it with the same arm Brenwar had recently hammered. Her attempt is unsuccessful.

The cowled man steps away from Miranna. "Foolish children, your efforts are meaningless. I will teach you the lessons of Shadow," he rebukes as he unleashes a withering lash of shadow at her. Miranna's armor protects her from most of the pain, but she is still overcome by strong feelings of lethargy and despair.

Kumori whimpers and cradles her wounded arm. She then lets her head back and gives an inhuman shriek. Brenwar and Chey are momentarily gripped with fear as they stumble away from the chilling sound. Kumori gestures with her good arm, and another skeleton rises from the ground.
"Kill him," she commands, her gaze fixed on Brenwar.

Bairdon cautiously makes his way down the stairs as Yishim's spell dissipates. He takes careful aim at Firete before loosing the bolt, and this time his patience is rewarded with success.

The other cultist curses as he attempts to close with Yishim. He throws another axe, but this one falls to the floor at the wizard's feet. The cultist curses.

The skeleton engaged with Miranna continues to enjoy small successes, slipping past her defenses once again. The other two fire arrows at Brenwar. Only one hits, but that's all it takes to slow the paladin down.

Chey moves to L12, retaining concealment. She Curses Kumori and then attacks her with an Eldritch Blast, hitting for 18 damage.

T.S.O. shifts to L6 and attacks Miranna with a Decaying Ray, hitting 30 Fort for 8 necrotic damage, reduced to 3. Miranna is weakened, save ends.

Kumori shifts to I7 and attacks Brenwar, Miranna, and Chey with Dirge, a close blast 5. Hits Brenwar's Will with a 24, misses Miranna, and hits Chey with an 18. Those hit are pushed, and count as being weakened when attacking Kumori, save ends. She then spends a minor to reanimate Skeleton 41.

Bairdon moves to L24 and takes a shot at Firete, critting for 16 damage. Firete is bloodied. As a minor action he reloads.

The beserker moves to L22, draws his second and last handaxe, and throws it at Yishim, hitting AC 17 for 5 damage. Oh wait, except he doesn't because of the range penalty. Yishim is fine.

Skeleton 10 shoots at Brenwar, hitting for 5 4 damage and slowing him. Skeleton 15 hits Miranna for 5. Skeleton 41 draws a longbow and misses Brenwar. Rolls.

Miranna gave a growling rasp- more anger than pain. She stepped around the skeleton, keeping it at bay for a moment with her sword. Then she made a complicated gesture with her free hand- for an instant it seemed as if the shield of force than protected her lashed outwards, with a rumble like distant thunder. The wave of energy seemed to simply pass through the skeleton's loosely connected bones, but Kumori was truck hard enough to shove her backwards. While the damage was minimal, it seemed to restore some of Miranna's confidence...

Yishim makes one final attempt at slowing the progress of the Berzerker and traitorous Baidron. To all outside observers, the two evildoers suddenly come to a halt, staring in all directions as they seem to mime being surrounded by images of themselves.

Guys, I'm running out of tricks with those other bad guys!

Brenwar, here! Firete points her sword at the necromancer and drags the cloaked figure across the room towards the Paladin. She then murmurs a few words of healing to regain some of her strength. All I can do, she shouts at him someone has to watch out backs! And then heads over to the other side of the battle to assist Yishim.
