The Jade Frontier, part 2 (DM: THB, Judge: Lord Sessadore)

Reeling from the dirge Kumori released Brenwar still manages to take advantage of Firete's spell. He catches Kumori with his hammer just as she finishes her stumble and his prayer takes effect to weaken the dark acolyte. He says a prayer for Chey to be released from the foul magic that grips her.
[sblock=Retcon]
Our oh so generous DM allowed me a retcon since Firete's pull happened after my first post.

[sblock=Various stuff]Fragsie mentioned in a different thread that real life had just dumped a lot of stuff on him. Hopefully he'll be back soon.

Also, Firete doesn't have enough movement to get to L21. She has to stop at L20. Since the berserker is immobilized and has no more throwing axes, there really isn't a downside to not ending adjacent to him anyway.[/sblock]

With Brenwar's aid, Chey is able to shake off the malignant enchantment. She hurries around Kumori and unleashes two arcane blasts at point blank range. The first one misses, but the second hits the necromancer square in the back. Kumori collapses as Chey steps through the Feywild to appear closer to the cultists threatening Firete.

"Disappointing. She showed so much potential. But she can still serve in death. As will all of you." The Shadowed One is suddenly upon Miranna, swinging his bludgeon in a low arc that catches her in the side, possibly cracking a couple ribs.

Bairdon lines up a shot on Yishim, squinting and concentrating against the distraction of the arcane mirrors. Luck apparently smiles upon him, for he manages to release a potentially deadly bolt. However, skill smiles upon Yishim, who is able to deflect the missile.

The other cultist can do nothing but howl in a berserk yet impotent fury as he is unable to force his way past Yishim's enchantment yet again.

The skeletons move into superior positions, but fail to connect with any of their attacks.

[sblock=Status]Initiative:
Brenwar (47/47+7)
Miranna (19/48, bloodied, ongoing 0 necrotic (save ends))
Yishim (20/29)
Cheysuli (41/41, concealed)
Firete (29/36)
The Shadowed One (165/186, Aegised)
Kumori (0/54)
Bairdon (34/34, immobilized, -5 to attacks)
Berserker (44/66, immobilized, -5 to attacks, Cursed)
Skeleton 10
Skeleton 15
Skeleton 19
Skeleton 31
Skeleton 41

Chey succeeds on the save granted by Brenwar. She moves to flank Kumori, retaining concealment. She attempts to Eldritch Blast Kumori, but misses. Kumori declines to take an opportunity attack, since the Sanction would kill her. Chey uses an AP to try that again, this time doing much better. Kumori falls. Chey teleports to P15 and curses the berserker.

T.S.O. shifts to K6 and charges Miranna, critting for 16 damage. Miranna is bloodied. Her armor protects her from the damage of the ongoing 5 necrotic, but you'll still need to try to save against it, just in case someone on the field has something that triggers off ongoing necrotic...

Bairdon shoots Yishim, hitting AC 17 for 13 damage. Yishim is bloodied. As a minor action Bairdon reloads.

The berserker does nothing. Well, that was easy.

The skeletons do some positioning and then proceed to shame themselves. I mean honestly, I'm embarrassed for them. Miss Brenwar with a nat 1, miss Miranna with a 19 vs AC, miss Brenwar with a 16 vs AC. Their melee attack allows them to shift one before or after making the attack, which is how #15 is able to flank Miranna. Not that it helped or anything.

I'd appreciate it if someone managed to pull the berserker to column 20 or 21 so I can charge this round. If not I'll have to run over there to do anything.

Just as Bairdon's bolt is about to strike, Yishim gestures and a shimmering shield catches the blow. [sblock=immediate interrupt]Cast Shield for +4 to AC and reflex until end of my next turn[/sblock]

Miranna continued to focus her attention on the cloaked figure. She spun her sword in a sweeping cut, and a trailing ribbon of arcane energy followed the blade. As she stepped away from her foe, she finally seemed to realize that almost everyone was focused on the enemies at the other end of the room...

"Hey! A little help over here!," she snarled.
