The Language of Magic

The language of Transumtation and Necromancy, perhaps ;)

The language of exalted Enchantment and Illusion is French.

The language of Evocation and Conjuration is Latin.

The language of Divination and Abjuration is Greek.

And the language of Universal spells is of course English :D

No. The language of magic is German.

Yup. German. At least, I always thought it was terrifying when my great-grandmother screamed at me in German...

You could try Enochian, a language "discovered" by John Dee, Queen Elizabeth's court astrologer.

Since there is such a close link between elves and magic, I would rather think the magic language to be something akin to elfish. If you want to try that approach: scan the internet for sites on elfish (you'll most likely find references to Tolkien elfish, for instance try Ardalambion ). What you also might want to look into is forms of celtic languages (Welsh, Gaelic, Breton, ...)

I've been trying latin myself for Ars Magica as the gameworld is Medieval Europe and magic is already described in terms and forms by using latin
