Prime Video has released a new trailer for Season 3 of The Legend of Vox Machina, the animated series based on Critical Role's initial Dungeons & Dragons campaign. The new trailer shows Vox Machina traveling to hell while seeking powerful artifacts called the Vestiges of Divergence to vanquish their foes Thordak and the rest of the Chroma Conclave. You can check out the trailer, which also features AWOLNATION down below:

Critical Role, of course, is one of the juggernauts in Actual Play and has amassed a large fanbase, affectionately known as Critters. They've partnered with Amazon Studios and Titmouse Productions to develop animated series of both their first and second D&D campaigns after running one of the largest Kickstarter campaigns of all time to initially fund production of the show. The Legend of Vox Machina is a hit for Prime Video and fits in the streaming platform's growing niche of adult animated series. The first two seasons of The Legend of Vox Machina covered the beloved Briarwood arc and the beginning of the Chroma Conclave arc, in which Vox Machina battles a coalition of five chromatic dragons. Previous guest stars have included Henry Winkler, Lance Reddick, Cheech Marin, and Billy Boyd.

While The Legend of Vox Machina adapts the first D&D campaign shown on their stream, the show has made several changes to both lore and plot to separate it from official Dungeons & Dragons IP. For instance, the original streaming campaign featured Vox Machina traveling to the City of Dis in the Nine Hells to vanquish a rakshasa who had plagued them several times in the show. No mention of either the rakshasa, the Nine Hells, or the City of Dis appears in the new trailer.

The Legend of Vox Machina's third season debuts on Prime Video on October 3rd.

[EDIT: a previous version of this article incorrectly stated that Reddick's role would be re-cast for the new season. Critical Role has since confirmed this is not the case.]

I was hoping that Lance Reddick would've been able to record for Season 3, and whoever's replacing him will have big shoes to fill. Such a terrible loss.

Edit: Apparently Reddick was able to record for Season 3, so I was wrong! I am thrilled to hear his performance one last time.

I watched the first two, funny dialogue and nice animation but not really strictly d&d. A couple of really nice fantasy shows also on Netflix.
I'll watch this and curious what they'll call the baddies, since it's looking like they won't mention IP specific terms.

Not strictly D&D but definitely a table top vibe of bickering murderhobs.
Being able to say the word "beholder" isn't what determines what's D&D for most people.

What happens if you don't use any WotC IP in your D&D games? Is it suddenly Pathfinder?

Unless you're a copyright lawyer, there's no question what game you're looking at when you see this cartoon.

Which 2 on Netflix are you mentioning above, if you don’t mind sharing. I watched season 1 and enjoyed it, I never started season 2 but I need to so I’m caught up when this season is available.
