The late Lance Reddick will appear in Season 3 of The Legend of Vox Machina as the primary antagonist Thordak. On Thursday evening, Critical Role cast member and The Legend of Vox Machina executive producer Sam Riegel confirmed that the late actor had recorded his lines for the upcoming new season of the animated show before his passing. When asked about guest cast for the upcoming season, Riegel wrote "Some great guest cast, yes! And to confirm - Lance Reddick recorded the season before his passing."
Reddick, best known for his appearances on The Wire, LOST, and the John Wick movie franchise, passed away in March 2023 from coronary artery disease and atherosclerotic heart disease. The second season of The Legend of Vox Machina aired before his passing in January 2023. Several shows featuring Reddick were released after his passing, including Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Invincible.
In The Legend of Vox Machina, Reddick plays Thordak, the villainous leader of the Chroma Conclave, a group of dragons who quickly conquered Exandria at the outset of the second season. Thordak made his home in the ruins of Emon after the Chroma Conclave destroyed the city. The new season of the show will pit Vox Machina against Thordak and his remaining dragon allies.
The third season of The Legend of Vox Machina will debut on Prime Video on October 3rd.
