There’s a great article over on the Secrets of Blackmoor blog about the ever changing rules of D&D. Well worth the read.

Honestly, that post came across as a lot of effusive self-congratulation for realizing that OD&D is just FKR with some light boundaries, which pretty much everyone who's come across the OSR over the past 15 years has already recognized.
 

OD&D the rules are badly written. ... Coming up with solutions during game play is the only way to truly make it work.

I am now convinced that there is such a great difference between zero edition and 5th edition that the two games are not even the same thing.
Sounds pretty similar, really. Just, 0e, state of the 70s wargaming art, 5e, DM Empowerment, y'know...
