The Molydeus is bugging me

Hi all,

Can any one let me know where the Demon, Molydeus (from fiendish codex 1) has been previously published in earlier versions of the game?

It's annoying me that I can't track it down! Hopefully someone here will be able to protect me from the dangers of high blood pressure by answering the question for me!

[edit] Scratch that - I just found these references in the new converted creatures thread - Monstrous Compendium MC8 - Outer Planes Appendix (1991, J. Paul LaFountain), and Planescape Monstrous Compendium Appendix I (1994).
Trouble is - I seem to recall it was published before AD&D 2nd edition & that's what's annoying me!![/edit]

as far as i'm aware, it did not appear before 2E.

Both are under Tanar'ri, True - Molydeus

I am not sure of other sources.

It's strange though - I'm sure that I recall seeing an AD&D black & white drawing of this wee beasty!

Oh well - as long as the hallucinations get no worse - I suppose I'll get over it

Ok its not conclusive proof that the Molydeus first appeared in 2e but this article would suggest just that.

Unless, of course, it (or a similar demon) first appeared in something like White Dwarf.
