No idea. It doesn't seem to have too much to do with the original story. Although it could be from the time before Buddha dropped a mountain on him.

The CGI does not look that great, which could be a problem in a movie that looks to be heavily CGI-reliant.

I've rarely seen Chinese and Japanese films with great CGI.
