Except that a wall of force can only be a dome or a vertical wall.

Really, so many of these conversations could be avoided if people were to read the book.

"Only" a dome? I see "sphere or hemisphere". Hemisphere covers both dome and bowl.

And a horse can sit in an 18' diameter bowl no problem.

Hmmm, you do indeed have a point there. If you come upon a situation where it's more useful to drop a horse on something than put it under a wall of force (assuming it'll stand still for the trick) I guess that it's only between you and your conscience.

Oh, and you yourself have to be above the point where you want to summon the horse, since the wall of force would block line of effect for the mount spell otherwise. Musn't forget about that.
