The Neglected Kobold

Excellent job. I don't have anything to add, other than to say i wish the core book had done this. 5e is perfectly capable of taking the good parts of 4e monster design and incorporating it, and that's what you did here.

Needs a kobold taskmaster with a whip shouting out orders, disarming players, and granting temp hp via those battlemaster maneuvers.

What about one as a player race?

Named Meepo.
Exactly.

Kobolds everywhere should be up in arms at the anti-kobold priorities of the designers. Does the MM really need both darkmantle and piercer? And do we really need both a magmin and a magma mephit? Even zombies get more page count that kobolds and they eat brains. Surely one page could have been moved around for kobold great justice.

Kobolds will have their day, you will see...

I came up with a 5E Monster Template using LibreOffice Writer and figured I'd try these cool Kobold Themes to test it out. See attached.

Send me any comments / corrections...

Enjoy!

I love the idea of treating a group of creatures as one opponent in respect of lair actions, and I also agree that they should be treated with caution. Definitely a high-value spanner in the toolbox.
