Nope, it doesnt.

Still a paperback version of the PHB is hella handy. I wish that they'd done this earlier. When they release it separately I might buy another one just to have as a table reference for the players in my game. Then again I might just buy another players kit box from Amazon (18.97 + shipping).

Everyone has ignored the most important question about this set: what are the dice like? Are they decent quality, like Chessex dice, or more like the light, softer plastic ones that came with the Basic and Expert sets some 25 years ago - and does it have a crayon for coloring in the numbers?

The dice are good quality, I think that they might be Chessex Scarabs with gold numbering.

I like 'em, but I think the real selling point is the softcover PHB.
