Well, less that a month away I will count myself as 45. ;)

Oh, the demographics from GenCon 2004 just to see how we match up!

Pity we don't have directly comparable categories as it'd be interesting to see if any significant differences.

Hmmm 72% male, 24% female.

Leaving 4% not clear?

Right in the middle, as is everybody I play with.

My guess is that 10 years ago, if you could have taken a pole like this, the bulge would be in the 20s instead of the 30s. We are the D&D generation: was it the general buzz in the late 70s early 80s, the "high gygax" era of products, the Erol Otus blue and red basic sets, the steam tunnels...

Hello All,

Although new to this forum as a member, I've been lurking since it started under Eric Noah. As for age, I just recently passed into the 37-40 category and I'm definitely feeling it :( I've been feeling twice my age for a few years now due to #&*$#*^ medical issues, but somehow manage to keep my sense of humor & a positive attitude. Being a D&D/RPG player of 25+ years is an important part of that attitude. As for the bell-curve here, it looks like the 30-somethings are definitely a majority :) Most of the people I game with are in their early-30s, while I'm one of the oldest in our extended gaming clan ( most of us are ex-USAF from the late 80s/early 90s and are spread out over the country - we talk over the phone & occasionally get together for one-shot games :) In any case, I'm glad to see I'm still sort-of close to the average age :)
